Legoville Live Steam Club
Welcome to the Legoville Live Steam Club.

Founded on January 1st, 2000, the Legoville Live Steam Club (LLSC) brings together fellow Lego enthusiasts to share and build model trains and railroads using only Lego parts.

Live steam is a name given to a class of model trains that models the real life steam powered trains of yesteryear.  Today, it is used to describe the scale of about one quarter to one half of real life.  Most of the model trains build by the club are about one third scale.

In November of 2000, the club offically premires its web site for visitors to tour our layout.  Over time we will expand this site so feel free to come back and visit.

Welcome our site, and enjoy the tour.

The Day Begins...
A new day begins at LLSC and the engines are taken out of their stalls at the engine shed.  The shed is a mundane mission influenced design with two stalls capable of holding much longer steam engines.  For now, the Pennsylvania 0-4-0 shifter with slope back tender and a 0-6-0 switcher  find their home here.
As we start the day, the 0-6-0 switcher is prep for the day, making sure the moving parts are greased and the tender is filled with water. However we will use the 0-4-0 shifter for the tour.

All Aboard!
After preparing the engines, the shifter picks up a bulkhead flatcar, flatcar, and caboose for the day's tour.  It heads toward the Train Station.

We stop at the Main Train Station to pick up our guest for today's tour.  The station and other building on the layout tend to be more one half scale than one quarter or one third scale.

Scenes Around the LLSC
Next we pass a small mountain, and the High Speed train with dome car, coach, and engine visible.
As we begin our tour we pass along some of the scenes around the LLSC.  Along the way we pass some of the other train lines running on the layout.

The first train we pass is the Metroliner passenger train.

LLSC Freight Operations
The LLSC also has a sizable freight operations.  A variety of freight cars and containers operations keeps the railroad running.

We first pass the freight yard containing tank cars, hoppers, box cars, coil car, and a gondola car.
The only diesel locomotive the club has is the Great Northern SDP40 shown here pulling a intermodel car to the freight loading station.
The intermodal car has stopped at the freight loading station for unloading to the waiting trucks.  One of our club member is watching.  The station is also used to load the members creations onto the tracks.
Well, we have come to the end of our tour.  We hope you enjoyed the tour.
